Excellent playability and looks trust me I have been playing everything for the last 25+ years. Technology and knowhow has come along ways. I have not seen any ESP's that don't live up to their name! This LTD 1000 is very lightweight, fast thin neck, smooth body, fantastic looks and great playability and sounds fab. The xl frets I love but not everyone does. They come with either Seymore Duncans for almost any style of music or active high output EMG's which are mostly Rock and Metal but you can get other sounds out of them as well. I can also recommend the ESP Ltd 400vf (now 401vf) which is half the price and plays also fantastic! Lastly Cooper's review is very poor and he is very confused..... You will be pleased with this Instrument I would say it feels like a 1700.00 Guitar!

I do not own this guitar (yet). I am debating weather or not I should get a KM Patriot Premium over the EC-1000. It's a hard choice. Now, I don't know what K. Cooper was smoking but this guitar IS listed as 1,199.00 - 1,249.99 (depending on color) on musiciansfriend as well as guitarcenter and if they both list them as that price, THEN IT IS that price. You absolutely CAN NOT get this guitar for less than 800 dollars ANYWHERE unless it's damaged or defective or if you are extremely lucky and do not know anything about guitars.......like K. Cooper. I am giving this review 5 stars simply to offset K. Cooper's due to his/her? incorrect information.

This is one of the best guitars for the money available. It looks beautiful and with the active pickups, is awesome for metal. It has a lot of high end stuff on it you just dont find on guitars in this price range. The reviewer K.Cooper above me had no clue, this guitar sells for around $850.00 and is a great deal.
