I recently bought this microphone after working with a couple of other musicians that also had this microphone. I am a pro musician for a living and have used many microphones over 40+years. I have learned that their is NO such thing as the "best microphone" to buy. The best microphone is the microphone that you really like when you hear your own voice using it. Besides, practically any microphone can be made to sound great by experimenting with EQ. I have to say though, that this particular microphone is the clearest sounding microphone out of the box I have ever run across for its price. I own many other brands of microphones from the well-known models to the not so well known. The Electro-Voice N/D 767a performs excellently on the small stage and on the big stage. It cuts through the mix so that you can be heard. Remember that Electro Voice as a company is a pioneer and innovator of microphones long before that other hugely overrated company that starts with and "S" and ends with an "E". Try out the EV N/D767a for yourself first before you buy it if you can. Compare with the others in its price range. You will see that many others and I are correct. The EV N/D767a is the clearest sounding microphone you will hear.
