Searching for a karaoke system amongst the different technology out there is intimidating. Your options include DVD, VCD, CD-G, MIDI based microphone, cassette based self contained systems and other proprietary systems. I found this system to be the best compromise of systems allowing me to use it for DVDs and other media, in addition to initial intentions of playing CD-Gs. This company is based out of California, unlike many of the other electronics manufacturers with service centers throughout the United States. The system supports the following media: DVD, DivX, VCD, CD-G, MP3, PHOTO-CD, and CD/DVD-R RW. Set up is easy and there are different methods of output including to a component sound system. Audio outputs include 5.1 Channel, Stereo L/R, Digital Coaxial, and Digital Optical. Video outputs include Y, Cb, Cr, Composite RCA, S-Video, SCART & VGA. Voltage is 100V/240V and video is NTSC-PAL compatible. Operation with the remote control is simple. This system plays DVDs with progressive scanning, in addition to CD-Gs for Karaoke operation. Control for karoake can be used through the front panel of the unit or through the remote control. 2 1/4" microphone jacks with the ability to adjust the volume of each microphone independently and to add reverb. A digital key controller allows it to adjust for your vocal range. Dolby Digital AC-3 and Dolby DTS. This is a good choice for multimedia options and is a good value. I recommend this system.
